I don't know. My grandson was nine last year when a classmate told him there was no Santa Claus. He was very upset.

Our kids never believed in Santa. We were poor and wanted them to know where their gifts came from. All six of them are over 40 now and say that it didn't hurt them a bit. - Dave

I think I was about 6 or 7 years old when I caught my Dad setting up the Lionels around the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve. Until then, seeing the trains on Christmas morning was the work of Santa Claus !🚂
Merry Christmas 🎄 everyone.

Sounds like your Christmas tradition was almost the same as ours- the tree went up on the train platform (bare) on Christmas Eve, and Santa decorated the tree and set up the train. Only difference - we had American Flyer !! We still set up the tree and train on Christmas Eve

I don't remember what age I was when I found out the truth. I do remember the sadness about learning about Santa, but I really felt bad about my parents because I knew how tight money was and how hard they worked to support our family. It is sad to think about all the children who missed out on the excitement in believing.

I was taught as a young child that Santa Claus was the embodiment of the spirit of giving, and that he'd be "real" as long as people gave gifts to others. I still believe in that Santa.

And here I am, masquerading as that gentle spirit:

Nice photo Santa. I love the glow from the tree lights in this photo, almost like there is a fog around each bulb; that is really neat! Have a safe and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Santa!

Thanks! Those blue lights actually look a little like that for real--they are very bright. (Sorry about the wrinkled shirt. The beard is real.)

I found out about Santa from a copy of "Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus".

This what we taught oir children. All in their twenties or more with families of their own. We all still believe in Santa. Each year we buy and wrap gifts and give them to children of less fortunate situations.
