New to the forum and looking forward to learning much. Wildlife is my favourite, particularly the animals and birds of east Africa - Kenya, Tanzania, Zambi etc.

Thanks - nice to be here. I live sth coast NSW (Jervis Bay area). Travel a lot but try to get to east Africa annually. Love Kenya and Tanzania for animals - Zambia for birds. How about yourself?
Again, thanks for the welcome.
Welcome to the HOG. I particularly like the silhouette of the Giraffe and the tree, it is superb. well taken.

Thanks for your kind words Mr Leicaflex - good to be here. Notice from your profile you are B&W and Infra Red enthusiast. Me too - in fact most of my keeper stuff is B&W and I have a spare Nikon D300 I'm thinking of converting to I/R. Although I was keen I/R with film camera years ago, haven't really persued it with digital. Any advice or comments on digital I/R most welcome.
Again, thanks,
Warren Wilson :D
You cant go wrong with photos of nature. I`m partial to elephants myself and have been to South Africa ...Kreuger Park . Niece lives in Jo`berg and takes me on photo tours.
Welcome aboard zneb, great photos, sure you will enjoy the site,Mike.

Hando,
I agree - I love taking photos of nature no matter what or where it is. You're very lucky with a relative living in Jo'berg - can't beat local knowledge to make those big trips run more smoothly.
Regards from Australia.

Unfortunately I don't travel any where near that much overseas these days - health will not allow it. I live on the Central Coast just north of Wyong. Look forward to seeing more of your work from Africa real soon. Thanks mate.

Sorry to butt in zneb240 - I understand you were talking to leicaflex re infrared etc - just wanted to add that Canon put out a "point and shoot" that takes great ir shots - a friend of mine has one. If you want I'll get the details for you.

Thanks infocus - very kind of you however I have a spare Nikon body so when the time comes, I'll probably have it converted. Aside from being familiar with using the Nikon, it would enable me to use my existing lenses. Again, thanks. :-)
BTW - anywhere on the coast is great to live, however Central Coast is particularly nice. Often gets cooler down my neck of the woods (South Coast) but still love it.
