I was drooling over the B& H sales offers and noticed the 77d is still available, as is the 80d and now the 90d. I'm wondering why the 77d is still in the offerings. Isn't it so very close in features to the 80d? Or am I missing something ?

I have a 77D. It is a step below the 80D. It is not weather sealed, the fastest shudder is 1/4000 as apposed to 1/8000 of a second, and does not have audio monitoring when doing videos. I like the 77D it is light and does all I want it to do. Also it has an updated Digic 7 as compared to Digic 6 processor on the D80.
The 77d, T7i and the 80D are ALL very similar. Meant for different photographers and purposes. Yes, the first two have the digic 7, but the 80D still has a faster shutter speed. Did a lot of research when buying my 80D. I posted a video on another forum explaining the differences.
Trying to make dinner after clearing even more snow. I'll find it and post it.
I just went through this decision last fall. ALL three will take fantastic pictures. Went with the 80D because wildlife photography is more my thing. And has features the other two don't and weather resistant. Thus, the price. Really depends on what you plan to do with it. Watch the video.

I have the 77D for 18 months and love it. 80D was much heavier and older processor. Weatherproof nice but the weight did it for me.

The 77D is the current high end Rebel model. Vastly inferior to the semi pro 80D model in every way.

Thanks for making us rebel owners feel good!

That's ignorant. Unlike rebels, the 77D has advanced controls like higher end models. Some head to head reviews have the 77D producing better IQ and low light performance.
I have a 77D as a back up to my 5D IV. I use it mostly for hiking, climbing and backpacking, so weight was the deciding factor. It's proven very capable and tough. If I could add one feature, it would be custom settings. Both are on sale. At 550., the 77D is a serious bargain. If you only have one camera and you can use the additional features in the 80D, then go for that.

Pick them both up and easily feel the weight difference is significant. I also like the newer processor. The 80D just wasnt worth the weight difference

Ignorant?
Obviously you have never looked at the 77D specs, all Rebel specs except for the top window which first appeared on the Rebel T6s. Same all plastic body, no weather sealing at all, penta MIRROR system, 1/4000 max shutter speed, lack of focus points, same Rebel battery, and if that doesn't convince you, it uses the SAME Rebel battery grip as the T7i! The 77D is LITERALLY a T7i with a top screen!
So who is "ignorant" here???? Time to wake up and quit believing Canons marketing propoganda!

Love my 77d. My niece owns a 80d. She wanted to trade for my 77d. I'm 73 the 80 was just to heavy me.
Even though the 77D is a year newer and pretty evenly matched, the 80D is a higher end model. Slightly bigger and heavier.
