Has anyone heard about Olympus updating the Firmware on this 12-100mm lens to allow focus stacking? The other Pro lenses offer this feature, why not this lens?

Focus stacking is not a function of the lens, but of the software in the body. Either way, you can set it up manually with a bit of planning. The closest focus point, somewhere in the middle and then the distant point.
Not as easy as an automatic routine but doable.

Focus stacking was enabled on the E-M1mkII with firmware 2.0.

The firmware update is for the camera's os. But only certain lens will operate in focus stacking. Check with Oly to get the latest compatibility list.

Actually, the 12-100 pro does do focus stacking on the EM1 MKII. Check to see that the firmware is updated for both the camera and the lens. The EM1 MKII most recent firmware version is 3.1 while the 12-100 pro's is 1.3. Both numbers will show up when you access the 'firmware' on the menu of the camera when the lens is attached. I've got that camera and lens and just tried the focus stacking.

Thanks! I checked my firmware and both the camera and lens have the same firmware you have. Now if I could find where the heck focus stacking is enabled in the menu? The manual doesn't list it in the index.

In menu 'C2'> bracketing>on>Focus BKT>on>Focus Stacking>on>OK,OK,OK,OK
In the menu, keep using the 'right' of the multi selector. Somewhat confusing but don't 'left' click to go back, use the 'OK' to choose everything going back. It did take me a while to figure it out :-) Cheers.

Dave Sr is correct. In addition when you get to the end of the menu chain you can choose how many images you want to stack up to 15, and the focus difference between steps from 1 to 10.
