The many bird photographers out there may be interested in the recently announced results of the 2019 awards. The competition attracted more than 4,000 entries this year.

At the risk of sounding immodest, I was both excited and humbled to have two images shortlisted in this years Special Category: 'Honeyeaters'. The first is a tiny Eastern Spinebill and the second is a Lewin's Honeyeater.

My most sincere congratulations go to the overall winners.

Outstanding images, Warren, and certainly worthy of recognition in this exceptional collection. Thank you to the link, all worthy submissions. I found the "Human Impact" division very difficult. What we humans do without regard to nature and that impacts our world is frightening and sickening.
Thank you Warren for posting. Inspiring images all.

Not to rain on your parade, carlysue and I respect your opinion but why does the lead in "Human Impact" always have to result in photos of death and destruction? There are many examples of human impact/intervention/investment etc. which are positive and even beautiful in nature. I recognize your reaction but I must point out that humans are capable of and, in fact do make the world a better place in many cases.
