I said “no civilian needs an automatic rifle.” That’s my opinion. You’re welcome to yours as well.

You’re really stuck in fantasy. Go shit in the street again, Freddie.

I just can’t help you. All you want to do is argue. So you were in the military and feel you have to impress people with that crap. I’m a Vietnam vet (64-65) and came across many people like you.

Oh my God. Did you use those evil black rifles over there? And if you really were in the military, which I doubt, why are you so incredibly ignorant on firearms and their nomenclature? And I guess if you took the oath to defend the Constitution that you really didn’t mean it, or perhaps you were too ignorant to understand what you swore to?

But what if the dog has to walk him, owing to his lack of common sense?

As someone else said "Read a book!" you have major misunderstandings of the "militia".
In the late 1700's "well regulated" meant skilled, trained and equipped, not controlled by regulations and rules. "Strangely" to understand what people of the past wrote you have to know the history of language and words and know what they meant when written, not what their modern meaning is.

And the "militia" was* all able bodied males of military age in good health. The Uniformed Militia was units of those individuals who joined together, trained and had uniforms and organization and were ready to be called to duty by the state or President when needed. Today that role is largely fulfilled by the National Guard though some areas still have militia units and some of them have been incorporated into the Guard. The Guard was officially created in the 1903 amendment to the Militia Act. The others are part of the Unorganized Militia. And you were required to have your own gear, weapon and ammunition when you reported. Many of those Uniformed Militia units had that provided by local government or a rich individual.

*Actually it is not "was", it is "is" the militia act in amended form is still a US law. It is just that no one bothers to enforce it in the strict sense any more.
Google "Militia Act" and you may find you are/were a member of the militia and didn't even know it.

PS: I did aprx 120 hours of grad level seminars on the Constitution and Bill of Rights - recruited by one of my professors at Cal State University LA and paid to attend by "The National Endowment for the Humanities" as part of a program for continuing education for classroom Social Studies teachers. And some of my fellow seminar members were surprised when they found not only what the Militia Act was but that it is still around and they or their family members were or had been militia members without knowing it.
As someone else said "Read a book!" you ... (show quote)

Very well stated. You know? It cracks me up when well meaning people point to the phrase "Well Regulated" and try to argue that it means the 2nd is to be regulated, while they are completely ignoring the fact that the 2nd is in the Bill of Rights, and the Bill of Rights was specifically put in the Constitution to make clear to Government, "Hands Off!"

You obviously don’t have any idea about the discussion at hand, you just want to abolish the 2nd Amendment and deprive fellow citizens of their rights. You’re a typical San Francisco pablum puking liberal. I’m glad your opinion doesn’t matter to anyone but your fellow snowflakes.

What’s with the name calling? What are you, like 6 years old? Why don’t you go play with your little guns. It’ll make you feel like a man.

Yes, I kill plants ... but I don't need a gun to do it. But it's true I am mentally imbalanced. Thank goodness I don't have a gun.

Just answer me one question. Why does ANYBODY need an automatic, or semi-automatic, or whatever you want to call it gun? Really? I'm NOT suggesting all guns be banned, just the ones that can result in mass casualties in a matter of a few seconds?

That farmer with his plow how many earthworms did he kill so you could eat plants? Not to mention the rats, mice, groundhogs and various other animals that gave their lives for the plow and disc.

I used to.
Maybe 40 to 50 years ago Santa Barbara and nearby environs had a bounty on boar.
I had a 1898 8mm Mauser. 5 shot, bolt action. Notta problem.
Then again I was brought up and trained by hunters.
Proper shot placement is essential.

Not only is proper shot placement essential but maintaining your composure and keeping your cool are more essential facing a charging pair of tusks, It is not the same as shooting a grazing buck or a bunny.

and the AR in AR-15 does not mean Assault Rifle, it means Armalite Rifle (the company that designed that style weapon)

Gray area for whom?

So few have fully automatics as it requires an expensive stamp, complete background check, and something else. One cannot simply go "purchase" one (legally).

To buy a fully automatic M-16, the weapon has to be manufactured before 1986 (There are approximately 543,073 owned by citizens according to ATF ). You have to pay a Federal Transfer stamp. ($200) Then find someone to sell you one. Going prices run from $2000 to $18,000 depending on the weapon. Then if you actually want to shoot it, 1000 rounds would be about $200 and would last about 15 minutes. Have fun!!

Uzis too. Less expensive to use and seriously accurate even though it’s a open bolt operation. Like one moving part.

Why don’t you man up, Freddie, and answer the questions I asked you? Afraid you’ll sound even more moronic, if that’s possible.
