After downloading Luminar 4, I uninstalled Luminar 3 (as well as 2018) with no problems.

Of course, I went into settings and "Uninstalled" them (Windows10).

If you need the space. I did not delete 2018, it took me awhile to get Luminar 3 working right. However, Luminar 4 is making me very happy quickly.

Isn’t Luminar 4 the software upgrade that comes with the much criticized clouds app?

These are two different versions of the Luminar software . . . they run independently so deleting one won't effect the other . .

In my case, I have not as of yet deleted Luminar 3 as my version of Luminar 4 keeps closing after 5 or 6 file edits and I have to restart. Could be a memory problem, but with 16Gb RAM and nothing else open, it shouldn't be a factor. No information was lost in the edits, but it's a pain to have to restart (at the worst times) and remember your workflow position.

Best of luck!

I said no too quickly. Thought you were talking about backing up in the cloud. If you mean the AI Sky Replacement filter, then yes. I’ve used it several times so far and think it’s great.

Is it perfect, no. A couple of the skies look too phony for my taste. And you have to be careful about with which skies you use in your photo. Remember it’s still your photo.

The fact that Luminar 4 can take YOUR sky images and automatically incorporate them into your photo was one of the main reasons for me to upgrade. Luminar 4 is extremely feature rich. Download a 30 day free trial. You’ll see what I mean.

I'm a Luminar user and after the thread in this place about the sky images decided not to upgrade. But maybe I should? I do all my shooting in RAW. (Nikon D750.)

I have 8GM of memory, I have had a few crashes like you but it is more random sometime two image, next time I edit thiry or so, then export with no crashes.

I found the Firefox, also take a lot on Memory, so I close Firefox and Chrome (Yes, I use two browser). Windows updates also can cause issues.

You can if you want to. They are two separate programs, the same as Luminar 3 was a different program as Luminar 2018. I kept the 2018 version when I installed L3, and glad I did, as L3 was buggy and did not work right when it first came out.

If you like L3 and it works good for you, keep it until you are sure L4 works with no issues or bugs. Then delete L3 if you need the space.
