First real try with a fly.
he was on the inside of the screen late at night
Yikes! Where is the swatter?
been following you guys for a while and decided to start posting, mostly have spiders and wasps. Have not gotten to the level of you guys. Thanks for your help, is this actually considered macro in your eyes
Nikon D3X (35.9-mm x 24.0-mm CMOS sensor) with a Nikkor 105G. If fly is approx. 5-mm long, then Field of View is approx. 10-mm wide. Magnification is greater than 3:1 (3x life-size).
wow, thanks. I have a tremendous amount of respect for you. Steve
What is your light source? ISO 1600 (noise is not too shabby), 1/200-sec at f/16.
Notice how shallow DoF at f/16: wings sharp, but screen OOF.
I used a Nikon SB-600 speedlight at 1/2 power, with a ring light attachment much like yours.
I like it, banker. That fly is a real looker! Maybe try to keep the lines of the screen even with the edge of the frame next time? The rule of thirds could have been put to good use with this subject too {well...maybe?).
Thanks for posting the fly. cameraniac
had a hard enough time just trying to get him let alone remember all the rules. Trying, will get it better next time.
