I love B&H. I've been buying from them for at least 15 years now. They are in my bucket list if I ever am able to go to Manhattan.

I also buy from Adorama. They're both fantastic, but throughout the years I've felt more comfortable with B&H website. It flows with me.

For used stuff my go to store is KEH. Another fantastic store to do business with, specially since their grading is so conservative; a good business practice, because psychologically, it gives a good feeling when you have it in your hand, and tend to think: I'm getting better than expected.

Also, for used stuff, I love buying from Japan, I always get stuff so well care for. I believe that the Japanese people are so neat with their possessions and it always shows.

I am fortunate to live on Long Island, which gives me access to the B&H store in Manhattan. I was recently interested in a Sigma 150-600 lens for my Canon EOS RP. I went to the store and the sales staff was extremely helpful. They connected a lens to an RP camera for me to try out. I had a question about mounting the camera and lens on my tripod their tripod sales staff showed me hoe to do it. I purchased the lens from B&H. You just do not get this kind of service anymore and a trip to B&H is certainly worth it.

This is on my bucket list, too. I have dealt with their staff when I wanted a flash unit for my Sony camera. They recommended a Nissin brand. It was a great choice and saved me some money as well. I love their return policy that is a “no questions asked”, allowing me to try out something I think I want/need!

I am fortunate to have a camera store within a 30 minute drive where I get knowledgeable help; so I can only image that the B&H store would be the icing on the cake!

So many items and so little time. Every time I go I have no idea where to start. Camera bodies, lenses, bags, tripods, etc., etc., etc. I live in Brooklyn and can catch the subway and hit B&H in no time at all. Be nice to have some extra $$$$$ for sure.

Great place, great people, and Hershel loves an excuse to get out of his office for a bit. If you ever get a chance to go there, contact Hershel to see if he is available. Great guy, but don't tell him I told you!

I only bought from B&H once,(based on positive comments from this site) and it was not a good experience.
I realize that anyone can make a mistake, but I have been leery of buying from them again. I would always buy from a brick and mortar store if there was on anywhere near me.

If your purchasing experience was less than positive, please drop a line to Henry Posner at henryp@bhphoto.com with all of the details.

I’ve made a few purchases from B&H, great serve, and great people to deal with. They back up what they sell, no BS about them. There is also, KOH’s and Cameta Camera in LI. Small mom & pop type stores, but have an excellent reputation too.

Visiting the B&H facility in person is on my bucket list.

A company I used to work for was a supplier. They were always good to work with but drove a hard bargain. One of our artists (who brought them in as a customer) said if you ever get to NYC visit them. Happened a few years ago when I was stuck there and could not get home. Went to their store and was totally amazed. Beyond the helpful employees each display was a sight to see. Their on floor samples (at least for Panasonic and Nikon) included beginner products through the ultimate professional versions. Do get there if you are able.

Been doing business with them since 1989. I have never had a bad experience. My last purchase was a 60" smart TV. It arrived in three days. When it showed up at Walmart 2 days later at $50 less than I paid B&H, I sent them an email and immediately received a $50 refund. Great company.

My primary camera store is Tempe Camera. They are my first stop. If they don't have something in stock, it's off to B and H. I've never been disappointed with any of the service or products I've purchased form either.

About 10 years ago, I made my first (and so far, only) trip to New York City. I visited the B&H store while there, primarily just to be able to say I did. It's the world's largest camera store. Visit if you can.

B&H has to obey Supreme Court Decision, that all sales taxes have to be included in online purchases. Actually, in California, you were to put the amount of online purchases on your State Income Tax Form, and pay those taxes, even before the Supreme Court Decision. Many did not comply, and it was not enforceable then. Now, it is. B&H has a promotion, that if you make periodic purchases, they will pay your sales taxes. If, your State has a high sales tax rate, like 8-10%. You may want to have an account to B&H's, I'll pay your sales tax plan. I think it is called PayBoo? A business promotion it is only. That's all.

PayBoo is just a clever way of sidestepping the Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policy directive.
