Very Stunning imaginative Images, Incense I guess, correct? As a beginner myself, I ask you, how did you shoot these and get a Black background.??

Hey Silverman,
Thanks for the compliment. I used a black sheet purchased at target for a few bucks and stuck it to the wall with push pins. (to cheap to buy expensive back drop) Put flashes slightly behind the subject off to an angle facing forward, important to make sure there is no light spill off onto the background. I made snoots for the flash with printing paper and LaCroix cardboard boxes.
The room does not have to be completely dark the flash on the subject will over power any light on the background. It is better to have a lower ISO. Then is you shoot raw you can adjust the contrast. Increasing the contrast with also push the blacks darker.
Hope thats not confusing. All of this is trial and error.
