I have downloaded a free file called jpeg resizer. it will resize and compress all of your files as copies to any size you designate for email. very handy and I then have copies of ALL of my shots ready to go in a separate folder.

AOL will have a pop up after you insert the pictures. Pick the top one it is for sending pictures to look at them on the web. If you want to send them to be printed use an atachment. - Dave

I use Picasa myself and it is very easy to send photos with the proper setting this way. I send them to my desktop first.

Hi Doug. I use a Mac for all my computer work and play. When I do an email, at the bottom it gives me choices on the bottom of the email as to what size of files I want on the pictures. So I guess I am saying, get a mac. :)
Just kidding, you should have a spot in your editing program for sizing the pictures.

I'm with you,get a Mac.!!!

Windows allows the same thing!! Right click on the photo, send to mail recipient and it will ask what size you want to send!! VERY easy.

BTW, I eat my fruit, don't care to play with it!! LOL!!

Hi, I tried your suggestion and I got this prompt. " There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel." I have AOL and Gmail and have tried both and still get the same prompt. Can you help me? Thanks you. Doug

Picasa quick and easy to e-mail and change size.
Spruce them up on the quick and dirty if need be before sending.
If needed for attachment or posting export to folder (make album) with the size in tittle ie Steamboats 800, 1200 etc.

I agree with the comments about quality. Most of the time when I am going to email an image I will make the resolution 72 and hight and width will adjust accordingly.

If ALL you did was change it to 72PPI, you accomplished nothing.

We have been over this a bazillion times, but I realize not everyone has time to read every post.

ALL that matters is pixel dimension. NOTHING else. If you took an image that is 8x10 @ 240PPI and just made it 72PPI, all the recipient has to do is put it back to have a 240PPI 8x10.

If you send a file at 500x400 and any PPI you want, it will look exactly the same on anyone's screen - 57PPI 78PPI 235PPI, 398PPI - all will look the same. PPI is irrelevant - the oldest bit of baloney on the internet. And it will be really tough to make much more than a marginal 5x7 at best.

Dave, What version of AOL do you have because the version I have doesn't do what you say. Thanks
