I have own a Pentax 18-50 f2.8 lens, a Pentax 55-300 lens and a Pentax 18-250 walk around lens. Any feedback would be appreciated.

My first interchangeable lens camera was a Spotmatic in the mid 1960s. I currently use a K-1 for landscapes and it is an excellent camera for that use. If you don't already go there you would enjoy the Pentax Forum, https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/.

I know you’re not interested in the ‘Q’ series but I have to put a plug in for a great little camera.

Here's my two Pentax bodies, Peter …

That's the 50-200 on the K-50 … also have a Tamron 18-200 for it …

Also had a K-3 for a month, but had to return it …

I have been using Pentax since 92 and now have about 75 of them. A 110 with 3 lenses, couple of screw mounts, K1000 through the ZX series(pentax's worst cameras),4 DSLR's. 2 6X7's and a few other brands people have given me when they learned I collected cameras. The LX is my favorite of the film cameras, It is such a beautiful example of craftsmanship and features.

I too shoot Pentax. Bang for the Buck. I have a K-3II with an assortment of lenses from 18mm to an old Takumar 4.5f 500mm. Right now the lens that stays on my camera the most is the Pentax f2.5 24-70. The lens I like the most is my 60-250mm f4. I've had it for 5 years maybe? The SDM focus went out with the warranty. I had it repaired by Eric H. and haven't had an issue since.

Welcome to the Hog, Peterac.

I too am an avid Pentax fan and have been using Pentax Cameras for several years. I originally started using SLR cameras in 1970 with a Petri and moved to a Pentax K1000 SE after that camera needed repair or replacement. Currently I have two Pentax Kx with the 18-55 f2.5-5.8, 35-80 f4-5.6, and 55-300 f4-5.8 lenses. I enjoy taking landscapes, portraits, and family photos.

Look forward to seeing your photos and hearing more from you. There are many "experts" here on the Hog that can and will give you advice, support and information.

While it is not my main brand, I do own a Pentax k-50, which I like because of its splash resistance and sturdy construction. I use it with its kit lens, a sigma 17-50, a sigma 18-300, or a Tamron 18-200 lens. Two features that I love are its ability to use generic AA batteries with an adapter, and a unique setting which I find particularly useful for indoor flash photography. It is called TAV. In this setting, the user selects both the F stop and shutter speed, and the camera compensates by selecting the ISO. Reviews of this camera were generally positive, but some felt that it gave up a bit of performance and image quality when compared to similarly priced "Canikon" models. One thing definitely worth noting is that third party lens makers like Tamron and Sigma are gradually abandoning the Pentax market

I have been using Pentax since my first new SLR the Spotmatic! Had a fairly large collection of 'other' brands and sizes but Pentax was always the main camera. Downsized 4 years ago and now I use a K3 all the time. Many old Pentax legacy lens (even screw mounts) and a few Sigmas. My basic lens is the Sigma 17-50 f2.8 but my absolute favorite long lens is the Pentax 300 STAR prime. I also play around with some macro stuff and with several sets of extension tubes and a few different Pentax 50's, and a 135. Also have the Samyang 10mm and just picked up a zoom mirror lens to play with.
A friend has a K1 and that camera is amazing....if my K3 has any problems, I would love to move up!
Enjoy your Pentax!
Bob

I'm chiming in just because I don't believe anyone has mentioned the Pentax ME. This was my first TTL light meter camera, circa 1978. I still have it somewhere; I liked it. I'm a Nikon guy in digital; sorry.

I currently use a Pentax K-50 and a Panasonic Lumix DMC ZS60. Had a Pentax K-X that died. Still have, though don't use, a K-1000 and another semi automatic film cameras. The Lumix is my purse camera.
Use the lenses from both the film cameras on the K-50 except for a telephoto that you push in and out.

Yes, there are Pentax users here on the UHH. I too have a K-3. And a K-5, K-20D, and K-100D (that was converted to full time Infrared use). As you can see from my tag line I also have Pentax film camera. I'll keep this brief right now as I am not feeling well this morning. I think I ate something last night that is really disagreeing with my guts.

I am also a Pentax user. I began converting from film to digital when digital was still really crappy about ten years ago. When it came time to move up to a DSLR I went with brand recognition - Olympus. You couldn't beat the OM system and they were ahead of the curve in 35mm. I got my first OM-1 in 1973. But their digital equipment disappointed, and they changed the lens mounting. I waited for the launch of the OM-D to see what it would bring, but as soon I read the specs I knew this wasn't what I was looking for, plus their customer service had deteriorated drastically.
I did considerable research into Nikon, Canon, and Sony, to see what they were doing (and to see just how much I would be missing by not coughing up the price of a Lexus for a new camera system). I seriously considered going back to film, and was looking at Sinar cameras from a dealer in the UK, when I noticed they also carried Pentax. Finally, I hit on Pentax, and everything I read played right to me. I then checked the US and Japan company sites for more info.
BTW - the Japan site (in English) has a lot more to offer, especially using the special features:
http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/english/index.html
So last January I purchased the K-70 with the 18-55 kit lens (eh). I also bought the DA 60-250mm f/4 and upgraded my accessory gear. I mostly shoot wildlife and love the 60-250, which I have also used for portrait successfully. This Christmas I am purchasing the DA 300mm f/4, the D FA 100mm f/2.8 macro, and plan to add a K-1 II body next year.
You will notice on the Japan site that their tag line is: designed by photographers for photographers.
I am still experimenting with several features of the K-70, and learn something new every time.
