Any recommendations for a reliable and reputable Canon repair shop? Canon itself wants $400 to fix the selector dial on my 70D, which is about the value of the camera. I really don't want to spend that on it.
Here is the current list of Canon's authorized dealers. Some of them may also provide repair service at a better price then Canon itself. If not, they may be able to point you in the direction of a good shop.

They wanted almost the same for a 5DIII, I bought one on Ebay for $12 and changed it myself!
There's a uhh member, named Rick Riggins, who claims to fix cameras at lower prices. I haven't had any camera fixed by him. Contact him at "Discount Camera Repair." If interested. He's located in Colorado Springs, CO.
Midwest Camera Repair, Inc. Wyandotte,MT a authorized Canon shop, (734) 285-2220
I have used them on the advice of a Canon rep.
Glaser Camera Store in Seattle worked on my Canon 70-200 lens after I dropped it. You might look them up on-line and check with them.
