Sadly, if the information in this article is correct, the Americans at the Libya consulate were doomed from the very beginning. The ones who escaped were very fortunate, or just plain lucky. I'm glad more people didn't die; it could have been even worse of a slaughter.

Too bad Obama thought we could be friends with our enemies. Too bad we give so much money to our enemies.

When will we ever learn?

Some of us learn quicker than those in charge.

The trouble with the Arab Spring is that the rebels overthrowing their leaders may be no better tham those they are removing. It could be better to have an enemy you know------

Early reports said two of the people killed were Marines. Now it turns out they were former navy SEALS working for private security contractors:

Regardless, I'm sure they died trying to protect civilians, but they were badly outnumbered.

I was astonished by a report I heard yesterday that said our ambassador to Egypt would not allow the US Marines protecting the embassy to carry live bullets.

That may be okay in Canada, the UK or Australia......but anywhere in the mid-east?

That is pretty typical of any overthrow. The enemy we know versus the enemy that we don't. Cuba comes to mind rather quickly in this case!!

No, this is the on-going history of the world. And by the way where is the guy who produced this film - shouldn't we be looking him up and hauling his ass to jail ....... for inciting riots....for yelling fire in a theater....where is the outrage against the film producer???

We could remove all diplomats from all countries! Then we would have what? The people that put their lives on the line in countries that do not like us should be hailed as true heros and when those heros are killed because someone has incited a riot by sending vile hateful information the people responsible should stand trial and if found guilty publically hanged! Blameing all muslims for the actions of the radical few is like blameing all christians for the actions of Lt Calley at Mie-Lai.
We need the diplomats so we can keep a dialog open with all of the differing views of all countries. We also need to respect the prevailing religions of the world! You may not believe in their God but not respecting their God is a quick way to yours!!!

Interesting. Perhaps we should also be hauling off to jail the numerous "artists" who have depicted images of Christ or the Madonna in less than complimentary works. Or, maybe, these outrages do not count because there were no riots, looting or murders involved.

The State Department, Hillary Clinton, and many others have expressed outrage over the film.

No, the fault lies with the looting savages who used the film as a pretext for such violence and, disgustingly, on the 9/11 anniversary. :|
