A lone person takes in the Wells, Maine sunset
Nicely done but would appreciate if you would use the download function.

Okay a nice sunset of colors, but......the photo is "too busy". We see lots of boats, but only a lot of shapes we assume are boats because we cannot see them very well. Is that a person on the bench? I cannot tell for sure. Is that a pole coming out of his head? What is your subject? If your subject is sunset colors, what are all the other things in your image? If you have something of interest in your foreground, let's see it? Chip, it is great you were there. I know why you took this image, but how could you have made it more dramatic or interesting? Google sunset photos, study the ones that you like and ask yourself why you like them. Look at what is in the image other than the colorful sky. Let us see what the light is falling on in your scene. Please take this as constructive criticism to help you improve your sunset photos. You are off to a good start being so moved by a beautiful scene that you were inspired to take a photo.

Speaking of Maine sunsets or in this case sunrise.. one of mine a few weeks ago. No adjustments or filters used. Handheld Canon M6 100mm USM lens
Here is a sunset that I just found from a Google. Objects of interest that compliment the wonderful light. We can see details in the foreground. The tree on the left guides us to the background keeping us from the edges. Look at the lines created by the pier...etc....etc What does the boat add? Is there anything in the image that is distracting?

Moosehead Lake is another good place in Maine for sunsets. Here is one I took a month ago that I particularly like.
Nice shot. It does the job. I enjoyed it. It reminded me of the many times I was in Wells Beach! Thanks.
