It's a fairly widely useful term from one of the old countries, which is sometimes applied where we might say something like, "WOWSERS !! YIKES!!"
Some of the folks from Minnesota or Wisconsin may be able to define it more precisely. It's not too uncommon there, I've been told (well, not too uncommon there in the last century, anyway. Don't know if it has faded away in the newer generation.)
