I was driving this past weekend to visit friends ... when I came upon what looked to be a potential disaster unfolding ... 10 horses running wild & free ... with no fence ... & no one was watching them ... & the worst part was, they were near a busy road!!!!!!

Thankfully, due mostly to very quick thinking ... & immediate action ... I was able to herd them away from the road ... & thus avoided what could have been a major disaster ... they calmed down & stayed in the field where I had first seen them!!!!!! Phew!!!!!

Before leaving, I quickly took this 1st photo ... I didn't want them to panic & run at the sound of the shutter!!!!!

Whew! Close one! Good thing you are a trained, highly skilled equestrian expert! (What did you think when you got back to your car and finally put your glasses on?)

Yes ... it was a close one ... however ... as you point out, reality does have a way of sneaking up on me ... damned classes ... they take all the fun out of things. Thanks for the chuckle. And thanks to all who have looked & responded. I appreciate it.

Most excellent, Frank.

Question though: did you encounter this herd on the grounds of a 'hobby ranch/farm'?

Hell no Jim ... those are the really aggressive & belligerent Mousetangs ... they're quite a challenge to break ... they're much smaller than the traditional Mustangs but some say tougher. It took most of the day to just saddle one of those critters ... mostly because I forgot where the tiny saddles were!!!!!!

Let me know if you ever plan to be out this way ... I'll saddle one up for you ... help us find out if you are a man or a mouse!!!!! ;)

PS: Love your wit ... hobby ranch/farm for sure!!!!!!!
