Guess we're winding down now. Terrific topic.
Obviously one of my faves, and I would not
ever have guessed how many other hogsters
were also collecting this stuff. Good sooprize !
So, one more "for the road" .....
.
These playful GIs created numerous such "murals" on various walls of the Fürstenfeldbruck Army Air base in 1946, when they were bored with the military occupation. Eventually the base was returned to the postwar Bundeswehr Luftwaffe, who probably thought "How could these crazy Americans have defeated us?"
I have 5 more from Sante Fe, and could not get to many other good ones. This has been a great challenge! We should do it again soon.
Thank you User ID for such a wonderful challenge! You have a fabulous collection! Finally got an opportunity to view and everyone's images are great, Tim love your little guys from down under, the Freedom mural from Troy with all the quotes, photo tiles (mother with newborn!) and hand prints is truly a symbol of a tight community, the whimsical repurposed sculptures are so...well whimsical...wish I had time to comment on everyone's images,,,thank you everyone I hope you know I appreciate all your images....
Living in a rural area not a whole lot of graffiti, but yesterday on my way to work I capture something I see everyday on my way to work....shot thru my dirty windshield quickly while stopping at a stop sign...
And the second one was from up in Wilkes Barre from when I went out on the "bridges" shoot...someone really loves Shawn...
