I thought I would check this out as I need some help with my photography, and this looked like a pretty good place to try.
I have a Nikon d300 with a few god lenses covering from 10mm to 400mm
I will be spending a few days at Monument Valley and i as wondering if anyone could share some in sight as to where and when the best photographic locations are. I am also interested in trying to capture some lighting storms but I have no clue as to how to go about doing this. So I would really appreciate any help.
Thanks
Alan

Looks like you have something good to do while the NHL is on lockout. Nice work there, Medlowa. Thanks for the look.

Welcome Alan. Sorry I can't help with either of your questions. But there are lots of others who can. Post in the general photo or gallery section where more members attend. Also try a search of those topics within this forum. Good luck.

Hi Alan, welcome to the hog. As for locations in monument valley, i cant help there. its on my bucket list to see. but as far as lightening, ive been told set up on a tripod, have a remote attached to the camera and set the camera on B. point the camera in the direction of the lightning and open the shutter and keep it open. thats all i can help you with. but im sure there are others here at the hog who can help you even more. Good luck and when you find the answers here, let us know also .
Welcome to the Hog......nice shots.

Superb shots! Welcome to the Hog.
Great shots. I worked in Edmonton for a year and was fortunate enough to make the Calgary Stampede on my to Texas. Didn't win in Calgary, but what a great city.
