I would like to offer a suggestion.
That leaf would tell a greater story if placed on top of a tree stump or lodged in a crevice of a rock face. The color contrasts give credence to the message.
You could photograph it through a glass ball. Either way it is very interesting.

The title of your post scared me but I looked anyway.....hahaha.....you were right......even a dying leaf has redeeming quality. I don't think I have ever seen one in that state of degradation though.

Not sure if the tree from which the leaf came was unusual. The picture was taken in Prague.
