Birds under repair

On my last trip to Jackson Hole, we stopped by a bird recovery "hospital". Injured birds are brought in for care and if they can't be returned to the wild, are cared for and shown to school groups, photo groups, etc. I prefer birds in flight but these are pretty and one can get close. I couldn't help but think about how when we take photos of animals and birds that we are NOT supposed to interfere in their environment but recovery groups, such as these, directly interfere with these rescues.

The earth was created for us. We were given dominion over the creatures and the plants. Enjoy creation, and enjoy animals, especially birds. Life is good.

Really nice. I wish you had clicked "store original" so that we could see more than just the thumbnail.

Beautiful birds, nice set. Always happy to help those who cannot help themselves. Mahalo for sharing.

Are you saying Death is best for injured animals over a life in care of humans? Nearly all Nature Centers have permanently injured birds, mammals, reptiles, as well as ones needing just temporary recuperation. How about pet animals. Please stay away from my Dogs, and any of the animals that I've observed as a Biologist or Birder. I am hoping you got confused about what you were trying to say. Mixing rules of conduct when photographing nature with animal medical care and conservation.

I did once spend most of a day in a futile attempt to get help for a Night Heron that swallowed a fishing hook and line in the wilderness. We drove the poor thing around for hours trying to find someone who would treat a wild bird on a weekend. Nothing natural about this, man-made fatal injury to the bird.

Enjoying nature is great, but Humans are just part of it. But probably the least desirable and most destructive part of it.

Nice photography. Don't interfere with their life or environment for the sake of photography. However, I think it is very noble to help save, treat and rehabilitate animals, especially when so many of their problems are man-made.
