I have been looking for something like this for some time. I found that the bottom of my A6000 was flexing under the weight of my 90mm Macro to the point I was afraid it would break. I wouldn't dare using my 70-300 on the A6000 on a tripod which is a pity. This lens collar could be just what I'm looking for. If there are no negative responses in the next day or so, I'm going to order one. Note it comes from China and takes a couple of weeks for delivery.
Thanks for posting.
Update: I just went ahead and ordered it.
You are welcome. A buddy told me that there should be one out there . From what I can tell Sony doesn’t make one. All models I saw on EBay are coming from China.
I bought one similar from Amazon
DSLRKIT Metal Tripod Mount Ring for Sony FE 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G OSS(SEL70300G)
Have not put it in service yet.
The difference in weight between your camera and lens is ... irrelevant.
The question is ... is the lens too heavy for your camera mount.
It isn't ... not even close.
Canisdirus your experience says an auxiliary mount is not needed?

The lens mount is not the problem, although I believe Sony did use a stronger mount on the A6300 and subsequent A6xxx compared to the A6000. The A6000 has a polycarbonate body. When mounted on a tripod with a heavy lens, the base of the body is inclined to twist. I found that the FE 90mm macro, which is lighter than the 70-300, would 'sag' by nearly a half frame when I took the supporting hand away. I tried to 'modify' a Canon collar to support the lens but it was not very successful. I didn't dare try the 70-300 on the A6000 on a tripod. Hopefully this collar will allow me to do that. Having a 450mm 'reach' will be a nice addition to my lens options.

Bought and used this one and it works quite well. Can't remember if it was on
amazon or ebay but DSLRKIT was the name. google DSLRKIT for more info?

Canisdirus - I am fine when holding the a6000 using the 70-300mm lens, but on a tripod it is a different story. There is a big imbalance , extra lens weight is not getting the support or balance from tripod, so the collar would place support under the heavier component , the lens. I have seen other long lens heavy weights with built in tripod mounts, hence the concept of adding one to the 70-300 lens appears to be a solution to balance the load.
This link is to the same unit as the OP posted except it is on Amazon vs eBay. The one on eBay is $20 cheaper but Amazon has it on second day delivery vs three weeks from China on eBay.

I ordered one as well. The ARCA plate Mount is what I wanted, and the one I posted from China supports the ARCA plate mount. Sony made this lens primarily for the bigger, heavier base cameras I think, it’s an FE lens.,,should be great. Let us know how yours works out .
