OH, I love you guys and your BAD COPIES. Today camera's are tested during assembly to make sure they all operate the SAME.
IE, their are no bad copies, only bad photographers.
I have worked in and out of the photo industry for over 35 years. And, when the GUYS get together one of the funny topics of conversation is BAD COPIES. I have made many many friends in the photo industry over the years and I am happy to report that, their are not bad copies, only bad photographers.
As I said to the OP, unless he increases his SKILL LEVEL, he will continue to get, in his opinion, BAD COPIES.
I know you will not like this post and will probably respond negatively to it. But, the truth is the truth, bad photographers are bad, regardless of their equipment.
OH, I love you guys and your BAD COPIES. Today cam... (

Statement like that quoted: One could also flip that and say "I love you guys who state that a certain manufacturer never makes or let's a bad copy of any product slip through to the public" - really? If you have never been involved in manufacturing and distribution (of anything) then I understand the naivety of your position. But the real world is a bit different than that.....bad copies, early or late failures, glitches, issues that show up a few (or few thousand) clicks down the road...these are all real world, these things actually happen in the real world.... Nikon (Canon, Sony, Panasonic, Oly, whoever) never makes or releases a bad copy - Pleeeeaaaase, reality check required.
I've noticed that a couple folks on UHH have never had a bad anything made by Nikon (and this would apply to any brand) and you have been very fortunate - For the rest of us - that is stastically impossible scenario... And they are usually first out of the box to imply the OP/photog is at fault (that may or may not be an issue, but how would you know?). Before I attacked anyone's shooting skills (have you ever seen any of the OP's photo work? Probably not, so you do not know of his abilities) one should consider why there are recalls, repairs, updates to operating system issues, possible shipping damage, poor batch that get's past QC (it only takes one tiny little part to start operating poorly or fail), fraudelent actions, bad handling, and any number of other issues that could affect performance right out of the box, or a little way down the road.
The OP stated that this is a recurring issue, it has been to Nikon already a good while back, was good, and then the issue returns. This is not an unheard of situation in the real world.
Every manufacturer (of anything) has a less than 100% perfect product performance, any MFG. who says they don't is a liar, plain and simple....if not, there would never be early failures, returns for repairs or issues, etc. AND no, I'm not saying every operator/photog is never wrong, or that every OP/photog never makes a mistake.....but every component that reaches the public is perfect - not in this lifetime.
Do some reading on real world product performance (by any MFG.) reported by industry tracking groups (not "fan boys") - I think you might learn that there are of potentialities.
Now for the OP; I hope your experience with the D7500 is a wonderful one, I have both the D7100/7200, and I think they are fine cameras, I enjoy mine (old D90 too, still good) and a D80 and D90 that both developed issues well before they should have....it is not a perfect world, but you will (I think) enjoy the D7500.
Now - back to Hurricane preps, I've been working like crazy helping myself and my neighbors prepare (4 days so far)....Please Dorian, go a little farther offshore from the Space Center, and we will all be happy campers!!!!!
And Pray for the folks of the Bahamas, they have just been through hell.
