Gun Violence
Another mass shooting. Before all the name calling and battering back and forth commences I have one simple question.
My question is: how can we get existing guns out of the hands of people intent on doing evil and yet at the same time not infringe on the rights of honest citizens to defend themselves? It’s not likely thugs, drug dealers, gang bangers, white supremacists, etc are going to voluntarily turn in their guns or even specific weapons, clips or whatever even it was the law as they don’t care about laws anyway.
I would like to hear some specific answers not just generalizations. Seems like our politicians are good about saying we have to do something but they don’t offer up any reasonable specifics that might answer my question.

First, one has to accept that no fix will be 100%. Next, any fix will have to involve compromise, and there are parties involved in this who refuse to compromise. Any laws are likely to have unintended consequences. We just need to be sure that benefits will outweigh consequences.
