He does seem a bit frightened of guns, doesn't he? Maybe he finds the noise they make frightening.

I don’t know anyone who fears getting shot anywhere. You’re far more likely to get in a wreck going to any of those places

This whole hysteria over guns is a study in how easily people are manipulated and discard any reason.

There are more and more dangerous places in Canada. If you try and defend yourself you’d better be careful because the bad guy has more rights than you do.

Here too, but I'd rather stand trial for killing some thug than him stand trial for killing me.

Don’t the law abiding citizens of Chicago need AR’s to protect themselves? Who are you to determine what a person needs to protect themselves.

Just an opinion. I feel adequately protected at home by the Remington 870 under my bed and when I go out by the Colt Combat Commander that I legally carry. If you are a spray and pray sort of guy, then maybe 30 round magazines are just what you need. I wouldn't deny anyone the right to own anything that is legal for them to own.

Chicago (indirectly) brought us Barack Obama. They need more than an AR to protect themselves from him and his ilk. Don't forget his statement, "I have a pen and a phone." The unspoken part of that is, "I am prepared to use either to trample on the rights of anyone who doesn't support my agenda." And he did. Wasn't the so called 'Affordable Care Act' passed after being hidden in a "budget reconciliation act" which required only 51 votes in the Senate to pass instead of the 60 votes (which they didn't have) required to pass a bill?

I'm hoping that the family members of the loved ones that were massacred by a semi-automatic/fully automatic rifle, put a lawsuit into motion.

What do you think? Is there a chance of winning this kind of class action?

Why not sue all of the auto makers in the world for the mayhem they sell to the public? The operators are to blame not the tool.

Your 870 will not help you survive a home invasion. Invasions usually consist of 5 or more seriously misguided individuals. Consider using your colt as your primary. Always prepare yourself for the worst possible scenario.

You have two great choices in firearms. I have essentially the same thing only mine is a full size Government Model 1911A1 with the addition of S&W target sights done by pistol smith, James Hoag, in the 1970's. My 870 is the Police Model with the addition of a Vang compensator system on the shorter barrel. Hans Vang, the designer is a long time friend of mine and did the job as a friend. Of course I have a few other firearms to choose from counting Glocks, revolvers, Walther PPK/S and so on. A couple of AR's round out that part of my collection.

My only comment is that you are well set up for one or two assailants PROVIDED you take them out with a few shots in the guns you have. But lately I have read of people defending their homes and family where there are multiple assailants, up to 5 in one case. Sorry my friend but with the stress of returning fire and even carrying the 870 AND the Commander you will probably miss some shots. You probably have 13 rounds with both guns. That may not be enough from the training I have given to fellow officers. For me personally to protect my home the 30 round magazine is looking more and more necessary for that one chance in hell when I might need to be armed inside my own home.

I am not saying you are anti gun and I have read your posts showing me as much. I am just saying please don't disregard the 30 round magazine for the spray and pray type. I don't know if you have been in police work or are an average gun owner. For those in police work there is a lot of stress from being in a real life gunfight. Running from position to position if outside, reloading when necessary, the almost positive chance of not hitting the target with every shot and the probability of even hits not immediately incapacitating the assailant.

Don't forget the Liberals want bayonet attachments removed from rifles. God knows how many Americans have been killed by a bayonet charge in downtown Chicago or even NYC. As you know THAT is the Liberal Democrat thinking to save lives.

I would ask, How foolish can one be but the Liberals take that as a challenge.

No one has the right to own an assault weapon. They are the exclusive province of the military. One can get a license to own an automatic weapon, but the license is expensive, there's a very arduous application process and licenses are awarded to only a small percentage of people who apply. Oh yeah, almost forgot. The small number of automatic weapons that are in circulation and legal to own are astronomically priced and don't change hands often. You could buy a top of the line Canon or Nikon and a dozen top end lenses for the price of a junky war surplus full auto, if you could find one to buy.

The true definition of 'assault weapon' is anything that is used to do harm to another.

The liberals hijacked yet another term to make it into something that fits their narrative and gives their minions another false claim to ride on until it falls apart, like so many other claims.
