I think you ALMOST hit it on the first possibility. But the OP does not want to HIDE from trolls! The OP wants to prove they are one.

I think Mac and I are one in terms of the silliness of the proposed subdivisions. But, the frequency of the idea must have a common cause that makes me wonder.

Oh. I just saw the Cellphone nonsense. I suppose it is connected to that. In which case I apologize. But out of context it seemed weird.

I think the only new forum I thought was really worth while in a long time was the landscape forum, which has some separate issues worth examining. A lot of the others have just been nonsense.

How about vintage manual focus lenses on MILC by people wearing glasses?

How about cell phone product images taken with 30+ MP DSLRs?

I only track a couple of forums. I don't want to keep track of all the forums.
I wouldn't dual post either. I would just use the Gallery.
To me, a camera is a camera, and I'm more interested in the results than what was used to take the image.

It does get frustrating but understandable sometimes.
The site has become popular enough that the typical post often rolls off the first screen very quickly.
Go the main photography site or photo gallery and look at the most recent post.

In most cases it will not be seen on the first screen after an hour or 2. Many visiting the site will stop at the first screen of a forum section. This leaves questions unanswered. The result is threads like this one. ;)
