I watched this video about the framing of the movie scenes in the first Jurassic Park vs the sequels (why it looks a whole lot better) and found it to be highly interesting and also valuable for still photography when trying to get more "oomph" into your shots.
Some folks call this stuff the "near/far" relationship of objects I guess but in any case...check it out and give these techniques a whirl.
