That looks good but the fact that it does not back up "Fine Tune" is troublesome. If you have 4 or 5 lenses there's a lot of time and work involved doing a redo unless you record all your results elsewhere. To do a reset of the camera would be the last resort.

"unless you record all your results elsewhere" Seems like a minimal amount of "extra" work to me.

Thanks Rich, I have 4 bodies and 6 lenses. It would be a lot easier to actually find out which button I had inadvertently pushed or changed then it would be to have to Fine Tune 6 lenses again from scratch. Thankfully I use Lens Align with their software and do have a print out for each body and corresponding lens.

If you use FoCal software to fine tune, you can always save the numbers within the software.

Thanks. I always wanted to try FoCal but friends that have bought it never could get it working right. Part of that could be because they were using Canon cameras and they had to manually work the program. The hang-up I have is that you need to be tethered to a laptop when doing checks on 300mm through 600mm. I just couldn't use my PC because I don't have the space to set up the required distances. I also read all the reviews and that caused me to stop and think.

I have all Nikon bodies and Glass , no problems. Don't know why it would be any different with Canon, (Operator error is my guess) My son in law is a teacher and I use the school gym or the halls for the bigger glass. Personally I found it to be so easy to use. I use a 25' tether, available at B&H. The laptop sits alongside the tripod on a custom table I made for doing my on location architectural drawings. The target is taped to a wall and I just move the tripod and laptop to the required distance for each lens. I have in the past when the school wasn't available, used malls that open early for joggers/walkers. Even my neighbors garage which is opposite mine across street. Camera in my garage and target in neighbors, throw a light on it and Viola!

The program will work with Nikon cameras but you have to make the changes manually on Canon. It will still work but a bit lower.
