So you lived in Rochester? Doesn't mean what you say is true. At an average of 50 MPH the trip would only be just over 8 hours. And it is a rare few who only average 50 MPG on a trip like that. Even if I was blind and deaf, which I'm neither, I still wouldn't be dumb enough to believe your unsubstantiated comments.

Eight hours is about right from HERE, Bill …

Ten hours to Buffalo … another 45 minutes to Niagara …

Once you've actually DONE it - leaving from MY door … then, you can come and argue with me, again …

If - you're DUMB enough, to …

It would be 8 hours to Niagra Falls averaging 50 mph. It's just over 400 miles. I know you would rather stick to your beliefs than look for the truth. Knowing you are wrong would probably be devastating for you.

No need to respond unless you can verify what you are going to say

BTW - you may want to check for high speed internet. It could open a world of information for you.

https://www.highspeedinternet.com/ct/fairfield

You could sell the pictures that are too good to show us to pay for it.

The only way it might take 10 hours from where you live is if you go through Canada - even longer if you get held up in customs and traffic near Toronto.

I lived in Rochester when I worked for Kodak in the mid 60s. Niagara falls was about an hour and a half away. My sister in Manhasset on Long Island was only about six hours away.

I haven't averaged 50 MPH since the 1950s. Today I can make it from here to my son's house in South Miami (almost 400 miles) in under 6½ hours including a stop for gas.

Maybe we are just better drivers than you are.

I went to High School in Manhasset in the mid 60's.

When I was working I dealt a bit with cops and judges. They all knew I had a heavy foot and would remind me of their rule of thumb when it came to speed. They would always say, "Plus eight you're great; Plus nine your mine"

I keep my cruise control on plus ten. As long as there are people passing me I don't worry.

I DID go to that link, btw … and closed it, after a half-hour went by, without anything appearing ….

The link works ok for me, and only takes about 1 second (if that) to open up.
I have a decent internet connection.

In one of our states, Victoria, there is no tolorance for for exceeding the speed limit at all, by any ammount.
Exceeding the speed limit, even by 1km/h will get you booked.

Back when New York State decided to allow the counties to raise the speed limit from 55 to 65 ours stayed at 55. A reporter asked the Police Commisioner why ours wasn't raised. He said since everybody already does 70 there was no need to raise it.

It's like one of our American friends, who live in Littleton (Colorado), when asked "how long to to get from the Grand Tetons to your place?"
He replied
"Wyoming is sparsly populated and the speed limit is 70 so just stick it on 80 and you will be here very quickly"
We did it in two easy days ........... as we were tourists, and not used to driving on the other side of the road.

I gave up on this Post about a week, ago … what did I miss? … anything important?

Who's the two juveniles, Silver?

Hope you don't mean me … I just turned 72 last Tuesday!

I put this up as a Challenge - hoping to get folks who live near water (like me) to put up their Dock pics!!!
Let's get on with it - can we? … I just had it moved from the Gallery (my mistake!) to the Challenges section
