For the past couple of days every post I see on my computer has been showing "words" that are "clickable" (for a better term). When I click on them up pops an "add". Is this something new on the forum or has my computer possibly been infected with a "bug" of some sort?
I have stopped clicking on any such words in the posts so it's no big deal, but I am curious.
Thanks for any comment.

For example, the word "computer" in my original post is a clickable link and brings up an ad for Kazu Media just by hovering over it.
Again, any suggestions for defeating this?

A good antivirus and Malwarebytes.
I've seen highlighted words on some sites (I never click on them), but never here at UHH.
Have you run a virus scanner recently?
Not good. Assuming you are running Windows, Malwarebytes or something similar should do the job.

What browser are you using? Consider disabling pop-ups and see if there is any change. And of course, run Malwarebytes and a bot detector (but be careful of bogus copies of Spybot).
You might want to check your computer for adware.

Gene,
I don't have this issue with your post and I have never experienced this on UHH. If you have multiple browsers on your computer, do they all give you the same experience? In addition to previously given suggestions, you may want to check your browser for add-ons or extensions that are supposedly for helping you to search, find products, etc. and often add quick access toolbars to the browser. These items are known for adding such "features". Skype also had a browser extension that was suppose to help you to simply click on the phone number and Skype would make the call. However, it would also highlight other items for some reason, perhaps due to the coding found on the site or the coding of the plug-in itself, and present such "links" as you have mentioned. If you have any extraneous toolbars that are add-ons or extensions, I would begin removing those, too.

Thanks to all who responded. I'll be trying some/all of the suggestions and we'll see what happens. Thanks again.

I deleted two added extensions and that solved the problem. Thanks again.
