So, what happens when someone else happens to go into one of those outbuildings. These are vicious, aggressive, toxic spiders! Get rid of them before someone is bitten.

Based on all of the precautionary advice and the experiences others have shared from their encounters with the Brown Recluse, I now believe that it is wise to bug bomb fumigate my storage shed and old kennel building where they have taken up residence.

Perhaps that will prevent or greatly reduce them from making their way into our house where we dispatch them when we come across them.

As they said on the Enola Gay that fateful day, "Bombs Away!".

As a retired pest control company owner of some forty years I have to agree with several of the comments here...these things are not your friends no matter what you think they might eat! Get treated for them and make sure they don't establish a residence with you again. They're dangerous to you and all that live or visit with you.

I found this young Brown Recluse Spider in our basement last night. For some reason they thrive around our home and I find several dozen here each year. They are easily identified by the "Fiddle" pattern on their back. Another identifier is the configuration of their eyes.

I find spiders to be quite fascinating and the Jumpers truly melt my heart when I see them however the Brown Recluse are not welcomed in our home although I do give them their space in the outbuildings for I figure they must be eating something so they must serve some purpose out there.

Thanks in advance to all those who view and for your comments, suggestions and critique.

A friend of mine and his wife were both bitten by one. It caused a hole that went completely through his cheek. You could see his teeth without him opening his mouth!

A fellow worker in my office was bitten by a BR spider. He almost lost his right leg because of the bite which had horrific results. It took months for the wound to heal. You are dancing with disaster if you knowingly allow these creatures to live in your house. Sooner or later a household member is going to be bitten by a BR and will suffer the agonizing consequences.

This is not the brown recluse species of spiders. Look up the subject on the internet. The brown recluse
has long legs, and a brown, narrow body. You don't want to be bitten by this species of spider because
it's venom will do some severe damage to your skin. I have a friend who teaches biology on the campus
of the University of Sioux Falls here in South Dakota, his name is Keith Perkins and he would back up
what I am telling you about the brown recluse spider.

I read that the BR has six eyes.

A co-worker of mine was bitten by a brown recluse spider. When I first saw her I thought she had been in a severe auto accident.

I agree, my wife was bitten in 2010 on her ankle and still has a quarter inch sunken scar, she was very sick from it and complains that the scar still hurts!!
