Need a new All-in-One

I have a Canon MG8220 All-in-One that I love. A hinge on the lid recently broke so I need to replace the unit. The 8220 has a film/slide scanner attachment that I use occasionally so I would like something that has this capability. I looked at the Canon website and they don't seem to make something similar. Any suggestions?

The ability to make high quality prints is not a necessity as I have a separate high end photo printer.

Have you asked Canon (by phone or by chat) for suggestions re getting the hinge fixed?

Take a piece of tape and tape the door shut. It will work fine and you will get a lot more service from your camera. I have done this and it is a really easy fix

Let me make it clear to everyone what you actually want. You want an all-in-one printer that can also scan negatives/slides. I have the MG 8120. There is a negative/slide holder hidden in the cover. It's decent enough for casual film scanning. I can't find that Canon makes anything like this any longer. Two pictures.

Yes, and the costs of repairing it are more than the printer originally cost.

I tried taping it with duck tape but the lid is heavy and the tape doesn't hold.

Thanks for the links. I checked them out but didn't see any that had a film scanner attachment.

Yes, thank you. That is exactly what I am looking for. Your unit looks the same as mine. And you are right Canon doesn't seem to make an equivalent model anymore.

I can't find any equivalent. Epson made the Stylus CX7800. There is one available on Amazon for about $550. For that, you could by a decent every day printer and an Epson scanner like the V600.
