Is this Wedding kiss shot too dramatic?

I took this shot at a wedding in Maui. I edited it adjusting the color levels, sharpness, and added a vignette. At first I thought it was awesome, one of my favorites ever, but now I am wondering if it's too dramatic. Maybe even tacky? I dunno, what are your thoughts?

The B/W contrast is perfect.... It is a tad dramatic, but the light spots on her ruins the picture...

I like the composition, I like it in B&W. But what is the light across her head? Was this in the original? or did it occur in processing? It is distracting, and my eyes are drawn to this and away from the subject.

I added the original to compare. Was going for the streaky sunrays look. I wish I could "aim" where they go. I like the shot but hate the huge sunspot in the original.

I like the B&W image but there is a little too much contrast in it--that is just my taste--too bad there is the flare--try taking shots from a different angles if possible sometimes only just stepping only a foot in another direction makes a great difference

I like it best in B&W but I agree the sunlight has caused it to be distracting in both pictures. I don't know if you can fix that in Photoshop or not to bad that sun was behind them at that exact moment in time.

They timed the wedding so the sunset would be the backdrop. The sunspots a flares were annoying but they seemed ok with them. This one in particular was one of their favorites.

The light streak is unfortunate. She looks to stiff, like she is afraid she is going to be dropped. Her hand is desperately clutching him instead of holding him and I don't like her leg position. You had a good idea just missed it a little.

Noooo, not too dramatic, not tacky...it's a wedding kiss. The first kiss of a marriage is never too dramatic. I like it.

Both views have their own beauty. but i also have to agree with LindaB....that light streak across her face is very distracting.

I'm going to be the odd ball here & say I think the light beam keeps it from being another ho-hum wedding kiss, It is more dramatic. Horseart is right.

yes tacky shot The couple will like it but no one else will.
I like it cause it shows that it is a fun couple who was willing to try something. the light streak makes it more real. these aren't models posing for an add (if they were then you blew it) they're
people who are documenting their happiness on this particular day.

In this case the only opinion that really matters is the couple in the picture
