Pocket/Travel camera first outing.

After all of the talk recently about pocket/travel cameras, I decided to start looking. I found a used Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100 on Ebay from KEHcamera for $375.00. It is a full-frame 20MP with RAW format, and 5 axis image stabilization and a 10X Leica zoom lens. This is from my first outing. Notice that the Shutter speed is only 1/20 sec. I am very happy with this camera. It is far easier to carry around than my DSLRs and produces a much better image than a cell phone camera. It also has post shot focusing and focus stacking in camera. The baby is 7 month old, and cute as a button.

Very nice image!

I have to correct your misunderstanding of your new camera. It's not a full frame camera, it's so called 1" sensor is only 9 x 12mm, comparing to Full Frame (24 x 35mm). it has a almost 3x crop factor. It's a very nice travelling camera. Good luck with it!

Jan congratulations on your new camera! I think having a light weight option is a big plus. I know it is working for me. The image quality appears to bre very good, too!

Thanks Carol. I did want to have a camera that I could carry in my pocket. I have a lot of gear and it was getting a little much to carry it all. I think this will work for me. I have been pleased with the IQ too.

Thank you Merry. It is in my pocket right now. It is taking a little getting used to, but it fills a spot between a cell phone camera and my DSLRs. I have to be patient though. The AF is not nearly as fast as my D500.
