Stunning, just stunning! I’ve been living in this country for nine years now and the range and scope of National Parks is awesome. Your photographs of Yosemite are breathtaking!

Many thanks for the very kind reply Paul. I'm glad you enjoyed these. I've been to quite of few of the National Parks and have enjoyed the beauty and unique vistas of each one. I'm grateful we have such spectacular beauty a short drive away.

Wonderful set, Vicki! The crashing water in #2 and #3 is really great.

Thanks for letting me know which images you enjoyed most Mike. I was impressed by the volume of water cascading through the canyons and over the falls. The roar was almost deafening.

Great...there’s so much more to Yosemite than half dome.

I quite agree. If you want to get another take on Yosemite, watch the documentary, "Free Solo." After seeing that a couple of times, I spent more time studying the face of El Capitan with new respect for what climbers experience.

Great set Vicki. I found some slides taken in the early 80s of our kids at some of the same spots.

Living as close as we do, don't you wonder why you don't visit the park more often? I'm ready to go back.

Thanks for the visit and comments Mark. It's always good to hear from you.

Just makes me want to breathe deeply and absorb the air! Enjoyed every scene but the one I kept going back to was the "just because" tree. I would even consider a portrait version by cropping it almost in half vertically to show all of the largest cloud and the trees in front of it, but that is just me! Always been kind of a solitary person.🤔 Thank you for the views Vicki!

I did a portrait view of that tree which I'll attach. See whether you like it. BTW The pine-scented air is heavenly.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply Linda.

Super set, and some good memories from long ago.
Thanks

I had forgotten that we've been to the park several times. I believe this was #5. Of course this was the first time with sons-in-law and grandchildren. Hopefully they'll all have great memories of this time together. My biggest memory will be of trying to keep up with these energetic youngsters!

Well done, Vicki. You have a good eye and an imagination to match.

Your comment made me laugh as I recalled my kids looking at old photos and noticing how many were of "lights and textures."

Thanks for the visit and kind comment TheShoe.

Some beautiful shots from locations I, now 80 with bad knees and feet, will never see live. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, some of the climbing is not for bad knees and feet. The hike around Taft Point was quite a bit easier than some of the lower trails to falls. My knees held up better than expected thanks to a walking stick which doubles as a monopod.

Thanks for taking time for this post rich1hart.

Your images are beautiful Vicki; I can't pick a favorite. We've never been to Taft Point, as we are apparently not quite as adventurous as your family. We usually avoid the valley area when school is out due to the crowds.

I understand what you mean about "herding cats." I don't see all of us making it to Yosemite together, as there are currently 23 of us, including my 97 year old Mom and 10 grandchildren from 1-10 years old. We are going to have 14 of us in Kauai next month though, 6 of them grandchildren. I'm trying to squeeze in a drive up CA 4, down US 395 and then into Tuolumne Meadows (my happy place) as soon as Tioga Pass opens. It's about 11 hours and 470 miles, a long day but a great drive.

Many thanks for taking time to reply to this post DJ. I don't know how you manage with such a large family. We have two daughters (and sons-in-law) and four granddaughters. Everyone gets along really well. Kauai is a favorite family destination, and we may go back there next year although the last trip to the big island was phenomenal. That may be our new favorite.

Where do you stay on Kauai? We rented a house on the beach in Kapaa last September. The traffic was awful. Princeville and Poipu are preferred.

Just to experience this is a dream unto itself, but to share this with family is priceless. Love your captures.

Thanks so much for taking time for this post Dave. I have to agree about sharing the experience. The memories will last. I generally don't post family photos, but have lots of those which I've forwarded to the kids. Creating an album for them might be the next step.

Wonderful photos Viki. Do not over look Tuolumne Meadows. Lots of level easy hiking that will get you beautiful scenery with only a little effort.
