Hackberry Butterfly

The Hackberry emperor is known for being a quick, mercurial butterfly. It often is found along water sources and lowlands, although it lives in a broad range of habitats. Another notable characteristic is that it rarely is spotted visiting a flower, which is considered unusual for a butterfly.
They are very friendly, they will land on you and walk around with you where ever you go, it's host plant is a Hack berry tree.
They love over ripe fruit, I feed them bananas, Plums, Strawberries just about anything that is over ripe.
I love having them around.

Two gorgeous shots, Johnny, and very interesting info on the Hackberry butter!!! Now I'm going to put out some overripe fruit and hope for a Hackberry!
