Handheld and in early morning light of a hover fly (Allograpta obliqua) partaking of the nectar of a Mexican Sunflower (Tithonia rotundifolia).
The hover fly is about 1/4" in length.

It's interesting how viewing the DL version is MUCH better on some shots. On others, it doesn't seem to make a difference. this is the former.
