Beautiful photo. Forest fires are a part the natural ecology of these areas and help with diversity. Too bad over conservation (smokey bear philosophy) and lack of proper forest management has resulted in the recent intensity of western fires.
Re the image, IMO, it looks like the sky got away from you a bit (overexposed) and you might be able to fix it in post assuming the original is a raw file.
Nevertheless, really nice image.
