Help PLEASE. For your Capture One" users, a question.

I have subscribed to Capture one and I am please so far with the results before I bring the images into Photoshop for completing the editing. There is a new version out that I just downloaded a couple of days ago and am having some problems. The images out of my Sony A9 are coming in as "read only", a pencil with a red line running thru it. I am not getting the same message using Bridge or ACR so I don't think it is a camera setting and did not have this problem with the previous version of Capture one. Did a bit of digging, and the suggestion from Capture one is set the preferences to "make new files writable by everyone". I thought that worked, at least it did once, but now looking at some images taken yesterday, I am having the same problem. What am I missing. Suggestion?

Thanks for the help.

If you are d/l jpeg images, you may not have checked off 'enable jpeg editing'.

These are Sony raw files. All fo the boxes in the "Image" section of the preferences are checked. Appreciate the help.

And, how are you importing these images?

Under preferences; Image; make sure that all 'enables are checked and that the default processing engine is Cap One 12.
I assume you are importing these to a referenced library or catalog.

I have not imported these images. I am simply looking at the images on the memory card directly out of the camera via a card reader. Do I need to import images before I can edit? If so, that was not required on the previous version of the software.

OK, never mind. I guess I need to import the image before it can be edited. I did not think that was necessary. Sorry to bother you guys but for those of you who responded, thanks for looking.

You are right. They need to be imported directly into CP1. Alternatively you can also use PhotoMechanic or FastRaw Viewer to view before you import.
