Checking my camera out after dropping it, and looked thru lens all I see is gray light. I change lens and everything worked . Looking at dropped lens, not mounted on the camera everything looks okay. Is the lens broken?

You will have to try and take an image with the camera and all of your lenses. Hard to judge if there is damage in a forum like this.

What happened? I never dropped photo gear....not even when I was an epileptic 5 year old. Were you drunk, or just careless? Did a Bengal Tiger attack you as you were shooting nude photos of The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders? You should learn about these wonderful preventative inventions called 'Camera Straps'.

In response to your wise *** answer ‘camera strap’: I nearly dropped my camera (with strap attached) because one of the small metal clip connecting the strap to the camera failed. I caught the camera before it hit the ground.

Thank you all of you for the replies,
I think I should have said it fell off a ledge , about a 6 inch drop.
Yes I did remount the lens.

Did you attempt to capture any images to check the camera/lens out?

Sometimes this is a tough audience, but don't let that deter you!

I believe judging is not the response needed for a learning type of forum. Hindsight is always 20/20 vision. We can all learn a lesson to be very careful with all of our equipment. I know I have had many close calls! I always protect my gear as best I can. Now have said that I am always up for learning lessons taught here in the forum. Keep up the good work positive people!
