Fingers Crossed

I just finished imaging the sun (all morning) then saw my granddaughter win her soccer game....now I am waiting for dark and plan to image the Whirlpool Galaxy.

Fingers crossed I keep these perfect skies until 12:30 .....clouds are moving!

All of that to say, what a great Saturday - free to do what I enjoy!!

Now, Mimi has fixed baked spaghetti and toss salad - garlic bread!

Can it get any better than this!!!!

Oh yea, the umbrella is a poor man's observatory!

From Western Kentucky - iced tea 2 meals a day 365. Breakfast was coffee for the adults and milk or hot chocolate for the kids.

Pretty new - I got it last year at this time to image Galaxies. I have gotten hooked on widefield imaging so rarely bring it out to play. I will have a lot of time this summer for a change so I hope to take the short nights and do some planetary, lunar, and galaxy imaging. I have never taken a decent picture of any of the planets. I use Autostakkert and Registax but my knowledge of that software is so basic I know I am missing a lot. I have been selling some of my deep space pictures and have gotten request for Jupiter, Moon, Sun, Mars, Saturn which I should be able to figure out. I have the ASI174MM-C planetary camera and that along with the EdgeHD should produce some good views without barlows. We will see!

Cool, have you picked up a ZWO Atmospheric Dispersion Corrector - ADC? I have one, but have not yet used it. From my internet searching, they seem to make a big improvement.

I have not used it yet, they were so popular during last years Mars approach that I didn’t get it until August. I probably won’t get a chance until later June.

I don’t know how far along you are with learning planetary, but this guy’s videos helped me out https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5hgx7Lb16EU&list=PLdvoDms8MWF7UNvrv-4Bkw3-eibwbLUWh

Jim had given me what his Registax setting were for Jupiter. See attached. I think I would have spent days making adjustments before I would have gotten the settings this high.
