I think the thread got off track. Originally, I asked if anyone had photography related books for the kindle and recommended any in particular. I have a couple of freebies that I have downloaded, but have seen many that I might pay for but was never sure if they were worth it.
Never got an answer, so I figure that no one knows, or else none of the books available for the kindle are worth the money.

I have downloaded some good free (out of print) books to my Kindle. One machinist's book, can't remember title.
Also, a newer one, 'Instant MBA'.
As for the novels, none of my favorite authors, no purchase.

cgchief,
I see you were a machinist and live in Jarrettsville. I am a retired
machinist and lived in Bel Air, MD. Worked at Western Electric and AAI. Moved
to TEXAS. Name is Will Blake.

My eldest son, Tom Canapp, worked at Western Electric in the cable department. He has been retired several years.
I wish I could move out of Maryland, but being over 90, it
would too much of a hassle.
Tom.

I have the Kindle and the Nook apps on my iPad. I have downloaded the three volumes of Photographing the Southwest by Laurent Martres. I used to carry the three books in my car when off to that part of the country. Now I have them with me in a much friendlier form. If you like to journey into that region from OK very often, they might be worth downloading.

I have Jeff Wignall's Exposure Photo Workshop on my Kindle Fire as well as Scott Kelby's Digital Photography (all four books). I really liked all of them. Also some gear-specific books that I find are better that the manuals.
