Just wondering how safe it is going to either B&H or Adorama given many of their employees live in the effected areas of the City. Over 300 cases so far
Were you vaccinated against measles? Most adults were vaccinated as kids.
Most of this problem was traced to a man who contracted measles in NYC and then traveled. When he felt sick, he went to a doctor, but measles was not on the doctor's radar, so he diagnosed it as a cold - or something. This man then traveled to other cities, infecting more people - people who had not been vaccinated.
Authorities have found that it is mostly "insular" groups who avoid vaccination that are most susceptible to getting the disease.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2019/04/16/how-patient-zero-spread-measles-across-state-lines-infected-people/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.08b3ec3b0b30I wouldn't hesitate to go to NYC or anywhere else. I got all my childhood shots. My son is in NYC now.
The hotbed of the measles problem is north of the city, at least from the news I see, I would not fear going to B&H or any other store in NYC, now I might be careful about shaking hands with strangers and then eating etc but casual contact would not bother me. Bob.
I find this outbrake of measles madness. What are people thinking?
I had them as a kid. I'm not worried.
My kids were all vaccinated.
If you weren't vaccinated, worry?

What are people thinking? "Medicine causes autism." They're thinking that their opinion outweighs medical facts.

Such a shame.
The recent outbreak is probably because those people were not vaccinated..........
I've read that if you have been immunized as a child that you can get measles. It was on TV yesterday and it's based on the year of immunization. Should be online now.
Good luck all

I have no worries, had the measles.
Then got vaccinations for every known crap.
If you have had vaccinations and for measles this is now 2 shots there should be no problem.
This is a direct result of the illegal immigration problem.
It's not the only or last thing that will come from it.

While my opinions concerning illegal immigration might be similar to your's; your comment here does not help convince others who may have different views. Your statement is totally incorrect. The outbreak was traced to a family, American citizens, that traveled to Israel, and one unvaccinated child returned infected. This happened October 2018. This is not an issue of immigration. It is a genuine health emergency created by those who choose not to follow sane protocols to protect themselves, their children, and their neighbors.
Your incorrect statement only will reinforce criticism of your views and opinions; and those who have similar views.

by the time the measles vaccine came out (1963) I had already done it the hard way. LOL What is it with these conspiracy freaks who don't get vaccinated?

Unless substantiated, your statement is a biased opinion, and should be stated as such.
Otherwise this will propagate all over the internet and be erroneously believed by most people!
This is how crap starts.......

Somebody told them something or they read it and believed it without doing any investigating...
