Nice. looks like a road or trail leading off into the hills.Makes me want to follow it to see whats on the other side. I'm always looking for what is around the next bend,or over the next hill. Beautiful country.Lived up there for a few years.love montana.
Thanks for looking, papaluv4gd. I know what you mean about what's next. I have a love/hate relationship with Montana. I think the winters are getting to me.
montana winters are cold, but I don't remember the cold being as biting as we have here in Ct.The cold here freeze your bone marrow.Winters out there are much dryer.I know cold is cold, but this wet cold is ugly.Plus there are LOT'S more photo ops out there. Enjoy.

One good thing about where I live is the view.
Your photo is wonderful! I want to see Montana!
My wife and I are planning a first time ever visit to Montana later this year. As a resident I would be most interested in your comments as to the best places to visit and photograph in a 10 day vacation there. Also, the best time of year. If you would write either here or PM me we would really appreciate that! Thank you in advance! Tom
And the fishing! Nice shot!

Hi Tom, it's a big state with lots to see. I live in southwestern Montana and there are a lot of mountains. The eastern half is flat. Most people come to visit Yellowstone and Glacier, where you could easily spend 10 days in each. The best time to visit them is in July and August, because it could still be winterlike in June at times. The big question is what type of vacation are you looking for. Here's a link from the state travel site for some ideas. Ask me some questions about what you might like and I'll try to answer them.

Mark, Thank you so much for your very kind and timely response! I believe we are most interested in the National Parks in South Western Montana. We would love to see everything of course but can only take about 10 or so days at a time. I am looking forward to spending time looking over the site you provided us. After doing that we will definitely get back to you for ideas.
One thing in particular you might think about. Often there are beautiful places the natives know about that are beautiful but are off the beaten path and uncrowded as opposed to popular tourist spots. We are definitely interested in Glacier and Yellowstone but are hoping to also find time to see some less crowded spots that most tourists will miss. Please be thinking of a few such places you might know of. Mark, again thank you so much for the assistance. If you ever come to the southeast we would be please to point you in the right direction as well. For example we have been to the Smoky Mountains many times and could definitely make recommendations.
At this point we are thinking of flying in, renting a car and basically going around site seeing and taking pictures, etc. Driving from place to place then flying back home, possibly from a different location. If you have any ideas as to a possible route, please let me know. From here, perhaps going to private message would be a good idea? Tom
