Hello Gang, I'd like to enter this photo in a show and I was thinking of having it printed on metalic paper. I'd like to have some feed back from the forum on the following. Is it a good enough photo to show? Would it benifit from the metallic paper? What size would work best? Thanks for your input.

I think it's good enough to enter. I don't know anything about metallic papers because I have never used them so I don't know about that. I'm not really sure about a size either. Nice photo though.

It's a great photo. The throat and chest area are going to be especially brilliant on metallic paper. My friend as won the county photo contest 2 years in a row, all on metallic paper. For some subject matter it's just perfect and for yours I'd go for it.

I would also go with metallic paper for this one. The size will be hard to pick tho. Hummers are a small bird, so don't go to big. I would say an off size if you can. 4x6,6x8?

Forgot to add, if they are framed, make the frame bigger.

Yes and yes!! I would suggest 11X14 - sometimes bigger is better.

Beautiful picture!! Definitely go for the metallic paper. As for size, I don't think it needs to be small just because it's a small bird. Are there size requirements for the contest?

What a beautiful picture.
Most definitely use the metallic paper, to bring out the Glow.
As for size, I guess that's all up to the beholder.

I have used the metallic paper for County Fair photos and won several awards. Some photos don't look good on that type of paper, but I think yours would benefit from it. I love this little bird, we don't have them here in Indiana. Let me clarify, not that type...we have the Ruby Throated. At my fair, we had to print the images 11 x 14 and put on adhesive backed plastic board and write the name of photo, category, you name, age on back. I might say only if you want, I'd clone out the tanish branch on the right side of the photo. But, that is only my opinion and sometimes the photos can not be touched up for a contest. Anyway, beautiful bird. Good luck, Cheryl

Yes and Yes.

NationsPhoto does Metallic in a 24 by 30 framed for $90(black) -$105(Mahogany) Free shipping and bubble wrapped. Metallic would work on this really well. I have quite a few large prints in Metallic framed from NationsPhoto.
Super shot and great detail!

I agree about cloning out that tan branch, if allowed. What a brilliant bird!
