Seeking advice on where to buy a used lens. It's a particular older Nikon autofocus zoom. I'll have to buy it online, and am seeking recommendations and warnings of used lens sellers. I would like to get it from a seller who actually checks the lens for proper function and is a straight shooter in every way. Fine with paying a fair price; I want quality and am willing to pay for it. I'm sure that y'all in Hedgehog land have vast experience with many online dealers... Thanks in advance.
Hi there,
I have bought a number of lenses from KEH. I've found them to be excellent. Usually deliver well over rated quality. Hope that helps.
Good luck.

KEH or MPB.
There are a couple of good camera stores who sell on eBay and come with good ratings if you do a bit of research.
Fred Miranda has a good buy/sell forum that a lot of people swear by and of course you could always try here on UHH.
Ebay from top rated sellers who sell lenses. Read the description carefully in regard to the lens condition and operation. If the item is not as described, Paypal will refund your money and postage both ways.
KEH and B&H have been recommended for used/refurbished equipment.
I have purchased several used lens from B&H no issues with them and they stand behind their sales...
In addition to KEH and B&H, Adorama's used dept. is good source, too. I've also bought used stuff from Henry's, in Canada.
Depending upon what you are seeking, you also might check the manufacturer's website for refurbished. Those can be a good deal, too.
I've bought a couple of used primes from Adorama.com . One was E+, but was flawless. The other was a Demo and was flawless. I will use them again.

My best luck has been from sellers in Japan on Ebay. The equipment's condition was understated. I bought a used manual focus Nikon lens from B&H with a very tight focusing ring. The lubricant had obviously dried out.
I have bought several lenses over the years from Cameta Camera. Everything is guaranteed with a 6 month warranty. Never had a problem.
I've bought used lenses from B&H and Adorama with great results. Also, though not a likely source for an older lens, from Amazon Warehouse.
Older Minolta's on eBay.

My experience with MPB is that they are very good.
