There is a downside. All the time we're loving the lusciousness of a beautiful spring, we are aware that it makes fuel for fires come summer. It will be a dangerous fire season.
Glorious! How can you possibly decide what to shoot? I especially love the second shot.
That's part of the problem! Actually, I start out shooting everything. Then I settle down and get more selective. I finally decided that I like scenes that have both poppies and either lupine or scorpion weed. Mixing white and yellow is nice. Adding a saguaro or two or a cholla really helps. By the end of the day, I could drive by beautiful scenes because they didn't contain ALL of the elements I wanted. But it's hard.
