Last night, I watched The Dirty Dozen (1967) again. That was a very good film, with a good cast. If you haven't ever seen it, or if you haven't seen it in a while, it's worth a look.

Another of that era is The Devil’s Brigade. While a student at BYU a call went out for extras. It was my one and only experience with the business, but a fascinating look at the process.

A was always a fan of Robert Aldrich's movies. The "Dirty Dozen" was one of his best. Another great one was "The Flight of the Phoenix." And they shot "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane" a few blocks from where I lived. That made perfect sense. It was close to home. I know because I went to High School his daughter, Alida. If you want to know about her, watch "Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte." She is the southern belle who calls out for Charlotte at the beginning of the film.

I should watch that one again. Very classic. I really like those old "spaghetti westerns," where all the characters were pretty rough cut and the guns were shot, the squeaked. I guess next stop, Netflix!!
