I took these shots at the Shildon rail museum, the old engine in display case is called the "Sans Pariel" the other two photos show the "Dwight D Eisenhower" and the "Dominion of Canada" on display in the main building..I understand they being resprayed and cleaned back to their old "running colours".

My husband is a train enthusiast and I love to take the photos! We took some of the Eisehower a few years ago as it whizzed by at Lakenheath! Great photos!

If you love trains you should go see. Our understanding it is the only manned crossing in England. The station master has to come out and manually open and close the gates before the train crosses.

Thanks to you all for your comments. This museum is a delight to walk round, and nearby is Timothy Hackworth's house, he was an early rail engineer. a rail line (original) runs from near to his house down to the main sheds, and if your prepared to wait (long queues in the summer)they have various engines (Dominion of Canada)was one, running up and down the line. Also they take in Loco's from all over the world (some in a dreadful condition) and restore them as best they can. This museum is a lot smaller than its big brother at York, but they are both a photographers dream.

Brilliant shots have you been to the National Rail Museum in York. They have a massive Engine in there from China. Made in Newton Le Willows Nr Warrington.
