More hot springs side effects in Yellowstone

Steam rising from hot springs freezes on cold surfaces nearby creating some dramatic effects.
Dream scene as steam rises to freeze on nearby trees
Grass covered in hoar frost droops into golden pool
Hot springs minerals absorbed into a pine tree's roots
Sometimes shifting hot springs kill trees but keep them standing for decades as minerals absorb into pore spaces in the wood

I like the third picture I am not sure why but it is nice .... as a wood worker maybe it would make a nice piece of wood for a box.... nice work!

My in-camera framing is still a work in progress. The wood pic is cropped quite a bit. Partly it is old age and arthritis -- easier to crop on a computer screen than crawl around in the snow, lol.
Btw, I assume the wood color is the yellow of sulphur.

Nice work. I also like the wood, but don't think there would be much to carve. Might look nice used as a stand under a glass table top. Definitely a conversation piece.

This is call Grand Prismatic Spring, the largest hot spring
in Yellowstone,, the colors are pretty neat..
